Kat Diaz is a Western Sydney-based artist whose love of music began at home, surrounded by the sounds of R&B, pop, soul, and funk. Growing up, her family filled the house with the voices of legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, and Diana Ross, shaping the musical foundation that continues to inspire her today.
From an early age, Kat was encouraged to perform, spending countless family gatherings singing karaoke before taking her passion to eisteddfods, talent quests, and live performances. Alongside music, she also explored dance during her younger years and later reignited that passion in adulthood, further influencing her artistic expression and stage presence.
Determined to pursue her passion professionally, Kat dedicated years to refining her craft through vocal training and mentorship with her vocal coach. Her commitment to developing as a vocalist led her to pursue a career as a professional singer, performing alongside her guitarist and husband at pubs, bars, festivals, weddings, and special events across Sydney. These experiences helped shape her confidence as a performer and deepened her connection with live audiences.
Drawing inspiration from pop, R&B, and funk, Kat blends powerful vocals with heartfelt storytelling. In 2026, after years of writing, learning, and overcoming self-doubt, she released her debut original single, Glitter. The song captures her journey through anxiety, self-acceptance, and personal growth as she stepped into a new chapter of her life. Through her music, Kat hopes to create honest, meaningful connections with listeners while continuing to grow as both an artist and songwriter.
